Happy Birth Day Samuel

Happy Birthday Samuel. My delivery was quiet an experience. I was scheduled to endue my labor Monday, February 21, at 8:00am. The night before the delivery my husband was unable to sleep due to anxiety. He kept on tossing and turning in bed. Finally, he decided to play his play station to keep his mind off the delivery. Monday morning at 2:00am, I was awaken by liquid flowing from my body. (My water broke). I remember laying still and screaming for my husband. Unfortunately, he was unable to hear me because he was in the office with the door closed. My mother came running to my rescue. I told her that I think my water broke. While I was getting out the bed my mom went to get my husband. I began to feel tolerable contraction as we heading out the door to the hospital. My husband kept on repeating “I AM GETTING MY SON, I AM GETTING MY SON". We arrived at the hospital at 2:45am and was admitted at 3:30am. I was 4 centimeter dilated when I was admitted. At six centimeter I was tired and overwhelmed as tears trickled down my cheeks. I was offered the Epidural and I refused it. When I finally got to eight centimeter dilated I began to have the urge to push. At nine centimeter the contraction got worse and the urge to push intensified. The pain was so excruciating. I felt like I was going out my mined. I feel like I could jump out my body. My husband fed me ice chips because my mouth was dry from breathing during each contraction. I was ready to give up. Finally, ten centimeters and I was ready to push. I pushed with every last energy I had. After about 3 pushes the doctor said “I CAN SEE THE HEAD, DO YOU WANT A MIRROR”? I said “no thanks”. About 6 more pushes Samuel was born. I did it. Samuel is here. My husband began to cry as he gave me a kiss. With all that said, I am very grateful to have the support of my husband and mother. I don’t think I could have done it without their support. February 21, 2005 at 3:30pm Samuel was born. it was truly amazing. A true gift from God. Mommy and Daddy loves you very much Samuel. What do you have to say about the birth of your child?
