Meet Samuel’s Sister

Samuel’s sister lives in Texas with her mother. Samuel will occasionally see his sister throughout the year. Samuel and his sister have a good relationship. He smiles with her, and at times gives her a look as if to say, “ I love you sis “. She enjoys holding Samuel. Her favorite phrase of the day is “Can I Hold Him Shar” (smile). There have been many times during the day where I would fine her looking at Samuel. It fascinates me to observe her admiration. At times I am curious to know what she thinks about her brother.

Samuel’s Godparents

Samuel’s godparents are two special people. They play a dual role in his life. Apart from being his godparent, they are also his aunt and uncle. Based on their principles, character, and poise my husband and I were convinced they would be great candidates. I will never forget the day my husband and I ask them to be godparents. I was not pregnant at the time, but due to our high level of admiration we felt it was necessary to ask their interest in such a special role. When they said" YES", I was overjoyed and got a bit tearful. I can venture to say that this is very meaningful to my husband and I. Samuel, you are fortunate.
I Am Blessed
When You Grow I Will Come
Samuel is now teething. He more frequently has his hand in him mouth. I occasionally massage the area where his teeth are protruding. I massage Samuel’s gum with my finger; which appears to be very soothing to him. I feel very sad to see him so uncomfortable. Samuels bits anything that goes into his mouth as a way to cope with the discomfort. Which means, there are no restrictions when I am trying to breastfeed him. At times I am convinced that he is going to yank off his only source for food. (Ouch).

Three Months Old

Samuel is now three months old. It is amazing how fast Samuel has grown over the pass few months. I have always loved life and who I am as a person. However, life has been so much more meaningful since Samuel been born. My husband and I look forward each day to explore and grow with him.
Samuel now engages with friends and family, enjoys hugs and kisses, enjoys seeing himself in the mirror, and at times very entertaining with his voice. Samuel fine his toes to be the most interesting part of his body. He has tried many time to reach his toes with his hands while laying on his back.
Today we went to church. Samuel is a great baby during church services. He would either sleep or listen attentively. Samuel still gets the otter most attention from the church members when we attend. He even received gifts from two members of the church. My husband and I extent our gratitude to the members of the church for the love and affection they display to our son. Thanks with love from our family.

Samuel's Step To His Room

Before May 16,Samuel was sleeping with my husband and I. It was convenient for me to attend to Samuel when he would wakeup every two hours. May 16, was the first time Samuel slept in his room. He is doing a great job without mom being at his beck and call. I, on the other hand, is having a hard time getting adjusted to Samuel not sleeping with us. What do you suggest I do?

Happy Birth Day Samuel

Happy Birthday Samuel. My delivery was quiet an experience. I was scheduled to endue my labor Monday, February 21, at 8:00am. The night before the delivery my husband was unable to sleep due to anxiety. He kept on tossing and turning in bed. Finally, he decided to play his play station to keep his mind off the delivery. Monday morning at 2:00am, I was awaken by liquid flowing from my body. (My water broke). I remember laying still and screaming for my husband. Unfortunately, he was unable to hear me because he was in the office with the door closed. My mother came running to my rescue. I told her that I think my water broke. While I was getting out the bed my mom went to get my husband. I began to feel tolerable contraction as we heading out the door to the hospital. My husband kept on repeating “I AM GETTING MY SON, I AM GETTING MY SON". We arrived at the hospital at 2:45am and was admitted at 3:30am. I was 4 centimeter dilated when I was admitted. At six centimeter I was tired and overwhelmed as tears trickled down my cheeks. I was offered the Epidural and I refused it. When I finally got to eight centimeter dilated I began to have the urge to push. At nine centimeter the contraction got worse and the urge to push intensified. The pain was so excruciating. I felt like I was going out my mined. I feel like I could jump out my body. My husband fed me ice chips because my mouth was dry from breathing during each contraction. I was ready to give up. Finally, ten centimeters and I was ready to push. I pushed with every last energy I had. After about 3 pushes the doctor said “I CAN SEE THE HEAD, DO YOU WANT A MIRROR”? I said “no thanks”. About 6 more pushes Samuel was born. I did it. Samuel is here. My husband began to cry as he gave me a kiss. With all that said, I am very grateful to have the support of my husband and mother. I don’t think I could have done it without their support. February 21, 2005 at 3:30pm Samuel was born. it was truly amazing. A true gift from God. Mommy and Daddy loves you very much Samuel. What do you have to say about the birth of your child?
